PIG-NE's Rules
- Never go alone. Not only do you not have someone with you to corraborate your evidence, but it is also unsafe!
- Be specific about where your group will be. Have an outside contact set up that knows where you are, just in case an emergency arises.
- Carry legal ID and permits. You should always have permission to be at a site, and the proof to back it up.
- If you have a bad feeling, TRUST IT!
- For any site, you should always ask for promission to investigate. Include local law enforcement in your plans when investigating a place like a grave yard or other public place.
- Be aware of all weather conditions that can taint an investigation's evidence. (i.e. snow, fog, rain)
- Always carry two-way radios or cell phones, both for safety and communication purposes.
- Never drink or use drugs before a hunt. You must have your full faculties about you on any investigation.
- Never smoke during an investigation. Smoking can corrupt any evidence collected at a site.
- Do not whisper. Speak clearly as you might ruin EVP evidence.
- No purfume of any kind on an investigation. Again, you run the risk of corrupting evidence.
- Keep your hair out of your face and tied back to avoid corrupting evidence.
- Avoid camera straps.
- Clean all camera lenses before taking any shots or videos.
- (In cold weather) If you are able to see your breath, hold your breath as best as possible during shots.
- Avoid reflective clothing of any kind, including shoes.
- Keep a good grip on cameras during the investigation. Keep your fingers away from any part of the shutter or lens.
- Load film on site. This is a little proof that film was not tampered with.
- Know your equipment. Read about the items you own and use. If you don't know something, look it up, or just don't use it.
- DO NOT TRESSPASS! Not only is it rude, but it's illegal and it gives serious investigators a bad name.
- Be aware of your surroundings. Take notes on any sounds or light sources on site.
- Work as a team.
- Report any possible health risks on site (i.e. tripping hazards).
- Be open minded to prayer, smudging, ect. There is no proof to whether it works or not, it can't hurt to do so before all investigations.
- MOST IMPORTANT: Respect the dead. Remember this is their home now, and respect it as you would a home you are visiting. Thank them for allowing you to be there...It can't hurt.
